Annemarie Fux originally comes from Switzerland. She moved from the steep peaks and sharp valleys of the Alps to the vast, open range of the cariboo in the 1980’s and then, a few years later, to the shimmering Okanagan.
After graduating with a degree in fine arts from OUC in 2002, Fux continued to explore different mediums. It was not until 2009 that she found the perfect medium: fused glass. Fusing glass is a technique rooted in antiquity and only recently, just about three decades ago rediscovered as a new art form. For Annemarie, working with glass has been “a life changing experience” wherein she combines the painterly with sculpture and is inspired by the flow of glass.
